Words from the Director
Welcome to the Darjeeling Public School Family. We feel proud to be a part of CBSE which has emerged as the most favorite and vibrant academic organization of our country as regards to primary, secondary and higher secondary school education.
We at Darjeeling Public School believe in all round education where traditional values blend with formal and modern education. We feel that education should be value based, keeping pace with our rich culture and spiritual aspects.
We all know that "a common teacher tells, a good teacher explains and a perfect teacher demonstrates". This is the reason that teachers' training is a regular and continuous program taking in our school. The teachers are trained to adopt the educational technology with open mind.We incorporate the latest technology, which enable our teachers and students to keep in touch with the outside world so that they are able to compete not only at the national but at the international level as well.
The abiding aim of Darjeeling Public School is to educate, empower and motivate students to grow into confident, conscientious and compassionate human beings. The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards. The true purpose of education is to promote the joy of learning into a lifelong learning. We need to develop internal motivation to learn. They need to develop a desire for mastery, a desire for accomplishment and a sense of confidence in one’s abilities.Every child is talented, we only need to spot the talent and nurture it.
We believe that alternate ways in addition to prescribed text books should be adopted to make the learning JOYFUL. We have started showing the stories of Panchatantra and Hitopadesha tales audio visually to primary classes. The pro and post discussions are held to achieve the aim of lifelong learning.
We aim to sensitize the young minds towards under privileged, senior citizens and environment. The students are encouraged to SAVE by recycling text books, school bags and accessories. Now they understand that SAVING means honesty to parents, society and environment. This is patriotism too. Our students and teachers are encouraged to greet each other by JAI HIND.
I now conclude with a note of optimism that all of us will do our best to take the school to newer heights to achieve the goal of making positive change to mankind and environment.
